Due to budgetary constraints, New Haven Community Schools made the difficult decision to cut funding for its band program. In 2011, the administration decided to bring the music program back and with generous support from their local community built an award winning program. A few short years later, New Haven’s band program received national recognition from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) for being selected as one of The Best Communities for Music Education in 2014. This is New Haven’s story.
